Wales’ oldest castle and medieval streets make it easy to spend a few hours in Pembroke. If you decide to stay longer, the bed and breakfasts here are a great value compared to neighboring towns. Pembroke Castle was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and offers two separate attractions. You can climb 100 spiral steps for amazing views of the keep before dropping way down to the subterranean Wogan’s Cavern, a massive natural cave. During the summer, the castle occasionally hosts open air theater performances.
